
A few decades ago, the Sport Utility Vehicle was a relatively new concept. Vehicles like the Ford Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee were considered trendy and unique. In today's society, the SUV has become the staple of the automobile market. Everyone from soccer moms to college students have come to appreciate and demand both the sport and the utility of these vehicle models.
At their inception, most models were simply light truck frames with modified 4-door bodies. As the market shifted to the mainstream, so did the technology and design invested by automakers.
